Celina and The Three Witches

Celina and The Three Witches is a children’s illustrated book both written and illustrated by me. It follows Celina in her adventure coming across three witches’ cottage. I took inspiration from Goldilocks and The Three Bears as well as Hansel and Gretel.

Research
In preparation for this book I read through multiple version of Goldilocks And The Three bears as well as Hansel and Gretel. I also did style research on different techniques, the main one being Mary Blair and how she painted her backgrounds for disney movies. Throughout the creation of this book I also did research on witch terms used in fairytales, movies, and other forms of media.
Inspiration
Sketches
The finished product of my book was formed from multiple rounds of sketches and thumbnails. As time went on and I was able to tighten my sketches up I then was able to think about; color, line, and texture.
